The Farm

Hacienda Sonora has been in the Guardia family for generations. Alberto and Diego Guardia manage the farm in Costa Rica's Central Valley with meticulous attention to every stage — from picking only ripe cherries to careful post-harvest processing. The result is a coffee with exceptional cleanliness and sweetness.

Costa Rica's Central Valley is one of the original specialty coffee regions in the Americas — known for consistent quality and well-defined terroir.

How to Brew It

This coffee is incredibly forgiving. Pour-over, drip, AeroPress — it works in all of them and shows consistent sweetness regardless of method. V60 or Chemex will give you the most clarity, but even a standard drip machine does it justice.

Good gateway coffee for people transitioning from commodity to specialty.

Availability

Single origin lots are available while supply lasts. The Guardia farm produces a limited amount for specialty buyers each year. This is a high-quality Costa Rica at a fair price — worth stocking up on if you like it.
